four year anniversary
boy oh boy, what was i thinking?
The quote of the day:
How about: ``It's for people who don't have enough money to buy underwear.''
-- Jon Carroll today. Man, Jon Carroll does a rant better than anyone and in fewer words too. I want to be Jon Carroll. Well, except for the beard and stuff.

One year ago: I didn't post on June 5 a year ago. How lame is that?

Two years ago: Darin and I see The Truman Show. It does not appear to be anniversary-specific.

Three years ago: I celebrate my one year annniversary.

Four years ago: My first entry! About my then-ubiquitous health problems.

Four years.

Let's see: moved to Los Angeles, went to graduate school, moved Darin to Los Angeles and bought a house, sold our condo, wrote a couple of screenplays, got a manager, and had a baby.

The best thing that's happened in the past four years has been Sophia. I knew I was enjoying this experience a lot when I told Darin I could imagine not only having another one but maybe two more. And there were a few moments where I found myself thinking, Darn, why didn't I have a baby right away when we got together!

As Darin pointed out, there are a ton of other things we wouldn't have done if we had had a baby right away. Well, yes. But for someone who was never going to have kids, it was probably a remarkable statement.

Remind me, at some point, to write about that.

Doing nobody knows anything/The Paperwork has been a great experience. I've learned a lot, I've met a lot of great people, and I feel good about having produced something many people have told me they really enjoy!

Today: yoga. I didn't get too much else done, because La Pookie does not sleep as often as she used to.

Something I wanted to do early on was a minute-by-minute accounting of my day, so I could see where all my time went. I didn't do it, and I'm sorry I didn't, because her schedule is totally different now. If I do it now and look back at it a month from now, I know I'll be saying, "Wow, she used to do that?"

Anyhow, this is the reason I didn't write more today about my move to my new site!

(If you notice any problems, drop me a line -- I've tried to update a few things here and there, but I've probably missed a few!)

I have gotten so much mail about Diana Wynne Jones, I have opened a forum topic on her:

Forum: Diana Wynne Jones

What's your favorite of her books? Where do you tell other people to start? What about the whole Diana Wynne Jones vs. JK Rowling thing anyhow?

And while you're there:

Forum: Make a referral of something you've enjoyed.

Forum: Got digital camera questions?

Just in case you think all religious crazies are by necessity Christian, here is exhibit A.

The answer to yesterday's question: The Prez is in Moscow right now chatting with Russian President Vladimir Putin about all things nuclear: changes to the ABM treaty, how to reduce plutonium stockpiles, and whether the US should go ahead with SDI (Star Wars) or not. I understand Clinton is a smart boy, so he knows how ludicrous SDI is. But just in case he doesn't, would someone go bitch-slap him for me?
