The Paperwork

Another Week Done?

Personally, I'm glad California doesn't have seasons.

As of today, I've been in LA for three months. Seems like forever.

Worked at Spring Creek today. Another GSPer, Brian, is also going to be interning there. He got to do data entry today (nyuk nyuk nyuk). I read four scripts, did quick coverages on two, didn't like them both. I can't wait until I read something that I really like that isn't already in the pipeline somewhere.

Came home to discover the vacuum and comforter had arrived from up north. Of course, I haven't vacuumed yet, I'm just kind of admiring it standing there. Actually dragging it back and forth is beyond me right now.

I also moved all the clothes from the various suitcases that have been scattered around my room for three months into the bureau that Fernando put together last week. There's room to walk on the floor of my bedroom.

Soon, it'll be a whole new apartment.

Last night I decided to read a non-scary book before bed, so I picked up the book on sleep that Michael gave me for my birthday a few weeks ago. And out fell the bookmark--a postcard my friend Fritz had sent me a month or so ago. I had lost it and was totally unable to find it, and when you live in two different places losing something is a real pain in the butt.

Fritz and I met first day of freshman year at Stanford. And now we're starting graduate school at the same time. He's already gone to graduate school once -- he got an MSCS in the coterminal program at Stanford -- but now he's studying music conducting in Ohio. It's a little weird having known someone for so much of my life. I'm not in touch with anyone from high school, so Fritz is kind of a touchstone for me. I'm glad he's off pursuing his artistic dreams at the same time I am. We're both overwhelmed and excited to be surrounded by people who know as much or more than we do about the subjects at hand.

This weekend I have to film my documentary for Production class and a lot of writing. I also have to plan the filming of my final project for Production, because the semester is ending soon. Real soon. Three months seems like forever, and now one fourth of my graduate education is over.

I got a phone call today that said my petition to take a TV writing course next semester has been rejected. I have some choice epithets for the program director on this point, but I'll keep them to myself right now. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to take as my fifth class next semester.

Tiffany and I might get together for some coffee or a movie or something, but she's got a touch of whatever's going around.
