Took me a little while to remember that the ice cream truck at the park sells “Tweety” ice creams.

  2. Question: a friend of mine had some ice cream about 3 years ago that he says was called “Colonial Peach” ice cream. He says that Blue Bunny made it but the company emailed me and said that they never made that flavor. I’ve tried Blue Bell, Hiland and Ben and Jerry’s. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

  14. I have recently found Blue Moon ice cream at Meijer’s. They have so many flavors available but only so much space so they rotate. Ask them when and if they’ll have it if you don’t see it.

  18. Blue moon ice cream is made by Melody Farms. They have a website, Melody Farms . com, they were supposed to package it in take home half gallons this past fall, I have not found it in my grocery store(Meijers)in Michigan yet in take home size. They do offer it in Meijers purple cow in store ice cream counter for purchase on a cone.It is a great unusual flavor!

  20. You can buy Blue Moon by the scoop at Kilwins in St. Augustine, FL (and I assume at other Kilwin’s locations throughout the country), They also have superman ice cream

  25. I went to the Melody Farms website given in a previous post. Melody Farms bought out some of the ice cream producers monopolizing the situation. Like I said in a previous post, Blue Moon is made by Stroh’s-not Melody Farms, Mooney or any other.
    It is an ice cream not a sherbert (response to above poster). I have been eating it (my favorite flavor) since the age of 6. I am 38 years old. My earliest memories are going to the Stroh’s ice cream parlour after my brother’s baseball games and getting it.
    If you want a take home of this flavor (or others like Bubble Gum) go to a Stroh’s ice cream parlour and purchase it. It will cost you though. I paid almost $10 for a 1/2 gallon of Blue Moon. It was worth every penny.

  26. Okay…my input re: Blue Moon Ice Cream. I have been craving a REAL blue moon ice cream cone for the last 15 years — but have yet to find the real thing. Stroh’s does make a blue ice cream but it’s not the real blue moon that contains little bits of pineapple – and the color is darker than the real blue moon (in fact, the Stroh’s blue moon looks like the darker blue found in “superman” ice cream). I’ve heard that Hershey’s Ice Cream Stores may carry the real blue moon but last year, when I traveled from Iowa to Michigan, we got to the door of the store and it was closed “out of business” (boo hoo) but there are other Hershey’s stores out there. You may want to check the yellow pages – I couldn’t find a list of store locations on the Hershey’s Ice Cream Stores web site (strange). If you find a store please let us all know if it’s the REAL thing! Until then..my search continues. I wonder if “Mooney’s Blue Moon” on Mackinaw is the real blue moon – if so, it may be worth a trip?
    P.S. We used to buy our Blue Moon ice cream @ Richardson’s Dairy in SE Michigan.

  27. I have never eaten a Blue Moon ice cream that has bits of pineapple in it. There is a Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor near me. It is located in downtown Farmington Michigan right at the corner of Grand River and Farmington Road. They have the Blue Moon I have eaten my whole life. There was no pineapple in it. Do you think the fruity flavor of Blue Moon is pineapple and coconut?

  32. You guys are cracking me up. We recently opened a Hershey’s Ice Cream here in northern Indiana and we carry both Blue Moon and Bubble Gum, which we hand pack for people to take home. If anyone is really, really that desparate, I will look into how much it would be to ship with fry ice for you. ; )

  35. Blue Moon ice cream was my favorite when I was little and lived in Michigan. I havn’t seen it anywhere else since we moved to Texas. I always get some when we go back to visit. If anyone knows how I could get some in Austin Texas please let me know.

  40. You can get Blue Moon just off of Hilton Head Island, SC at Kilwin’s Ice Cream in the HH Factory Store 2. Also, the people in the store insist that the flavor Blue Moon has its own website, but I have yet to find it.

My husband is from Michigan and he keeps telling me about Blue Moon Ice Cream and Superman Ice Cream, I have tried the Superman Ice Cream and it is awesom, but for the life of me cannot find anywhere to buy it.   43. *drool* Mmmm, Blue Moon… Wow! I haven’t had Blue Moon ice cream for over 15 years. Sigh.
    I’ve always loved ‘Blue Moon’. I’m eating Blueberry Cheesecake now, it’s from Haagen Dazs.
    The only place I’ve seen Blue Moon was in Michigan… many, many years ago. An Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlour had Blue Moon and Blueberry Cheesecake flavors. Then one day when I went back, it had closed. *sniff* I saw Mooney’s Blue Moon, but it wasn’t the same. Then it disappeared.
    I loved the taste and color of the Ice cream. A very strange blue, more like turquiose maybe. Oh so delicious, rich, creamy, fruity…okay.
    Hee hee…I saw someone mention the ‘Superman’ flavor. isn’t that sherbert? I remember trying that one when I was a kid, is that one still around? :o)

  44. Blue Moon Ice Cream is Wedding Cake Flavored. You can buy it in your local gorcery store…I used to work for a parlor that made it right in the store…you may purchase it at Tylers, Cortez FL and in St Armonds Circle, Sarasota/Long Boat Key FL.

  48. I can’t believe a conversation went on this long about an ice cream flavor. And I thought I was an ice cream nut. I grew up in Michigan loving Superman & Blue Moon, but I thought it was everywhere. I love the stuff & if anyone finds a place closer to Chicago than Schaumburg, please post it. I would love to have it in my freezer.

  50. The original Blue Moon Ice Cream was made by Mooney’s Dairy in Saginaw Mi. Stroh’s bought out Mooney’s some time ago but they still make Blue Moon with the same recipe as did the Mooneys. There are many other flavors that are the Mooney’s recipes and there are some new ones too. Stroh’s ice cream is totally different and not as creamy and good as Mooney’s. The original Blue Moon does contain pineapple tidbits and the flaver is considered to be pineapple. The blue color was added to make it not so pale and to be different from vanilla. You can still buy it at Mooney’s Ice Cream Store on State St. in Saginaw. We just came from there and yes that had Blue Moon in the 3 gallon tubs just like they always have had it.
