Thanksgiving
Things I am thankful for.
- Darin. Darin, Darin, Darin. I don't even have to say why.
- My family. My parents have always been there for me and my sister, and they've supported me in more ways than I can count.
- Darin's family, who have been totally wonderful in making me one of the clan.
- That my mother said, "Who needs this?" to the conditions in post-War Ireland and moved to the US, where she met my father.
- That Darin's grandfather Henry managed to get out of Dachau, which led to him and Ilse getting to America to raise their infant son Stefan, who grew up to be Steve and had a son named Darin.
- That my parents never discouraged me from spending a terrific amount of time up in my room typing away on my little stories.
- That scientific research has led to contact lenses that let me see and protects me from charming mass killers like polio, smallpox, and tuberculosis. (And if you think homeopathy is going to protect you from those, you're full of shit. Do a little research.)
- That I've had so many opportunities in my life, which I've been able to take advantage of.
