If you don't read Salon magazine, you should be. I used to think it was precious and artsy; now it's kicking ass. And it's kicking ass on this whole Clinton-Jones-Lewinsky-Whitewater-Kenneth Starr melee. Is the national media picking this stuff up? Or are they still just regurgitating what Kenny leaks to them?

Whenever I hear someone say they know what's really's going on, I think of these articles and realize that none of us dumbfucks down on the ground have a clue. The scary thing is...maybe Hillary was right when she said there is a vast right wing conspiracy against her and Bill.

Well, I think I'm pretty much done with my thesis script. One more printout, one more readthrough tomorrow.

I spent the day at the Horseshoe Cafe, near Tower Records, where I could even take my PowerBook if I wanted (they have outlets). I worked on paper--having first bought a new packet of yellow legal pads at Staples. I rewrote a couple of scenes, went out of my way to make my villain a sadist (without actually having him say, "Hi, I am a bad guy, how are you?") and cut out every single damn thing I could think of to cut.

And I sat in a cafe for a couple of hours. That was very pleasant. I drank decaf--they don't make pots of coffee, they make Cafe Americanos: espresso mixed with hot water. Interesting.

The script is still too long--117 pages. I'd like it to be between 110 and 115. Cutting more is going to be tough. I know I can do it though.

Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

2.5 miles. I still got that cramp on my right side, but controlled breathing seems to have kept it under control.
