Running news:
None today. I'm being a slacker. |

Today I did some strategic plotting stuff with the Irish script. I don't have to change a lot--I probably have to write, oh, 20-30 pages to come up with a final draft that incorporates all of Len's suggestions.
20-30 pages sounds so easy now. Wow. Making phone calls is still freaking me out though. Gotta do that more.
Today I watched The Bounty. (Don't say it--I know, I know, okay?) I actually saw The Bounty in the theatres--according to the Internet Movie Database, I was already out of high school, but I remember seeing it with my high school friends, so it must have been summer vacation. One guess as to why all these just-out-of-high-school chicks wanted to see this movie, and the answer is not Anthony Hopkins. Anyhow, something I definitely did not remember about this film: both Daniel Day-Lewis and Liam Neeson are in it. It was funny watching Day-Lewis, who had clearly not found his presence on screen yet--he's just kind of prissy and uninteresting.
Linda keeps mentioning the show Inside the Actors Studio to me, but every time I'm paging through the schedule I never see it. Tonight I finally found it and saw an episode she had mentioned to me. Harvey Keitel was the guest and he talked about his career. Two of the things I found the most interesting:
If Harvey Keitel still gets afraid...okay then. Actually, he said something more intelligent than that, something about what the fear means, but of course, I can't remember now.
Tonight during the NBA Finals--it's like I'm a basketball fan or something now; "Honey, turn on the game!"--was an ad for the new Samuel L. Jackson/Kevin Spacey movie, The Negotiator. DARIN stares at the screen, dumbfounded. DARIN Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey in an action movie? DIANE gets out of her chair. DIANE I'm getting in line at the theatre now. I am so there. Despite the fact that the lead character of my next script is supposed to be a hostage negotiator and this film may make that passe. You know, as in, "We've seen that already." |
