cincinnati: family weekend
just tell me where i should be, and when. |

The quote of the day:
If it's going to suck, it should at least suck up. One year ago: I spend time with Jerrilyn after class. Two years ago: Diane and Darin see the awful Dr. Dolittle. Three years ago: We return from a fabulous trip to Canada. Four years ago: Ceej and I look for an apartment. For me. Not together. |

Meet the great-aunts and great-uncles. Meet the second cousins. Meet the great-grandmother. Meet the uncles. Go to the rehearsal dinner. No, my baby isn't overstimulated out of her mind, why do you ask?
Did I say overstimulated out of her mind? Oops. It was another body part. We were a little late to the rehearsal dinner, because Darin had to wash his shirt and reiron it. He said I should have taken a picture of it, but I was more concerned with getting the baby cleaned up and avoiding the spread of the third largest poop spill I've seen yet. (By the way, cleaning up your baby's poop is not bad. I don't know what it would be like to clean up somebody else's baby's poop -- perhaps Dora will say something on that topic -- but cleaning up your own baby is just fine. A psychologist told me about a patient of his, an obsessive-compulsive, who discovered that he had no problem cleaning up his baby's poop. If you're worried about thinking it will be too "icky," don't worry.)
We rented a car that had a GPS direction computer installed in it already. It helped a lot in Cincinnati proper, not so much around Darin's aunt's house, which is in the suburbs. However, we really, really, really have to rent full-size cars. I can fit in a midsize car. Darin and Sophia's carseat, not so much. We picked Mitch up at the airport today. It took an hour and a half to get from West Chester to the airport, a drive that normally takes 20-30 minutes. There was a one-mile stretch along 75 that sucked up 30 minutes of the drivetime. I said, "Next time, we tell Mitch to rent a car!"
Sophia got her own seat on the plane yesterday. She is a great little traveler. Either sleeping or laughing. Only fussy when she was hungry. |
