After being totally unable to get to sleep last night because of anxiety over getting Donut to the guys at CSI (Computer Systems Inc., right around the corner in Cupertino! no more going to We Fix Macs over by the airport!), I overslept this morning. Eeep. Got up, motored over to the computer guys, bid Donut adieu.
If you want to make me crazy, do what the guys at CSI did today.
They couldn't get to Donut right away because they had other machines. Then, they said that Friday would be the earliest it would be done.
Whimper, whimper. But I'm leaving Monday...
Oh, well, in that case...Friday is still the earliest.
Another phone call: well, we've determined that the problem is the daughterboard, and lucky you, we've got another one in stock. Donut'll be fixed tomorrow.
Praise the Lord and pass the...
Except the replacement daughter board is DOA; we have to send out for one, and this is Apple's week off, we don't know...hello? hello? did the connection drop?
Please make the Apple tech people go into work tomorrow. Please get them to ship the daughter board to CSI by Friday. I'm not proud of begging, but I'll do it.
It'll be a while before I get the new and improved Paperwork off the ground. Stand by.
And sorry I can't send y'all on the updates list your updates...but that mailing list is on (you guessed it) Donut.
